Actress Momina Iqbal’s sister, Ramsha Iqbal, has alleged that she and her family are being threatened and intimidated amid an ongoing legal and public dispute. Speaking to the media at the Punjab Bar Council, she claimed that unidentified individuals were sent to different locations, including her sister’s in-laws’ residence, in what she described as a clear attempt to pressure and scare them.
Ramsha Iqbal stated that on one occasion, unknown vehicles were reportedly sent to Momina Iqbal’s in-laws’ house. She further added that due to the alertness of security personnel deployed by the authorities, those individuals fled the scene. She also claimed that at night, unknown persons were sent near her own residence, creating a sense of fear and insecurity for her family. She strongly rejected the allegations being made against her and her sister, calling them baseless and false. Ramsha Iqbal said that multiple fabricated applications were being filed in different forums to damage their reputation, but she remains determined to stand firm and fight the legal battle courageously.
During the hearing at the Punjab Bar Council, the disciplinary committee also reviewed a related application concerning the suspension of legal licenses linked to both parties’ lawyers. The committee, headed by Chairman Abbas Ali Chaudhry, questioned both sides on professional conduct and media statements related to the case.
The committee directed all lawyers involved in the matter to refrain from commenting publicly, emphasizing that ongoing disputes should not be turned into media trials. It also raised questions regarding professional qualifications and compliance with bar regulations.
Ramsha Iqbal maintained that she is only supporting her sister and will continue to pursue legal remedies against what she described as false accusations and harassment.
