Abbas Ashraf Reveals Brother Imran Ashraf Did Not Help His Acting Career

Pakistani actor Abbas Ashraf has revealed that his elder brother and renowned actor Imran Ashraf did not directly help him enter the entertainment industry.

In a recent interview, Abbas shared that he had always dreamed of becoming an actor. However, his mother initially opposed the idea, even though Imran Ashraf was already working in the same field.

Abbas recalled that his mother once told him she had prayed in front of the Kaaba that he would leave acting and choose another profession. He said he jokingly replied that her prayer had apparently been accepted because he had received an offer from a television channel.

Speaking about his brother, Abbas said that when he expressed his desire to become an actor and asked Imran to help introduce him to the industry, Imran refused. Instead, he encouraged Abbas to build his own career through hard work.

According to Abbas, Imran told him to “come through your own hard work”, explaining that he had also struggled to establish himself in the industry.

Rather than viewing his brother’s decision negatively, Abbas said the advice motivated him to work harder. He began his journey by appearing in different commercials before eventually moving into television dramas.

Abbas’ story highlights a different side of the entertainment industry, where even having a successful family member does not necessarily guarantee an easy entry. His experience suggests that Imran chose to encourage his younger brother to create his own identity rather than rely on family connections.

Today, Abbas Ashraf is gradually establishing himself as an actor, with his journey from commercials to television dramas reflecting the effort he says he put in to follow his passion.
