Just a few weeks before “Abir Gulaal” was set to be released, the film got caught up in a lot of controversy. After the recent attack on tourists in the Pahalgam area of occupied Kashmir, there has been a renewed wave of hostility toward artists from Pakistan in India. As a result, two of the film’s songs “Khuda Yaa Ishq” and “Angrezi Rang Rasya” are no longer available on YouTube India. These tracks were uploaded on the official YouTube channel of the film’s production house, Richer Lens Entertainment, but are now inaccessible to Indian users.
Additionally, the well-known music label Sare Gama, which holds the music rights for the film, has also removed these songs from its YouTube channel. Vaani Kapoor had shared a promotional video for the film on her Instagram on April 22, featuring her alongside Fouad Khan, but she later deleted the post. This action drew significant criticism from social media users.
Given the current circumstances, dark clouds are hanging over the release of “Abir Gulaal.” The film was initially slated for release on May 9, 2025, but now its premiere appears uncertain.
