Sakina Samo film “INTEZAR” is finally releasing, we should expect to see even more Pakistani films on the big screen this year, as they are on a roll. Several scheduled projects, including Sakina Samo’s directorial debut Intezaar (Waiting) starring Samina Ahmed, Khalid Ahmed, Kaif Ghaznavi, Raza Ali Abid, and Adnan Jaffar, were canceled as a result of Covid-19. However, there is good news for fans: the film is finally ready for distribution.
Sakina Samo the veteran performer announced to Images that her film would finally hit theaters on August 19. “Yes, it is true that the film is finally being released. It was delayed due to Covid-19, and IMGC is publishing it in its original form. “It was supposed to be released on March 21, but when Covid occurred, not only Intezaar but the entire globe came to a halt,” she explained.
She continued, “Let’s see how it goes because the film is wonderful; of course, I’d say that since it’s my baby, but I’d also like to point out that the picture is unique and that various types of films should be shown because we have a diverse audience.” When the film is out, she hopes it will be well-received, and people will enjoy it.
Khalid received the Best Actor prize at the Harlem Film Festival in New York in 2020, which he attributed to his “strong performance” in the next film.
The filmmaker said that all premieres at that time were virtual and that nothing “in real time” had occurred for Intezaar till now.
Written by Bee Gul, who is recognized for her work in Raqeeb Se and Dar Si Jati Hai Sila, the story focuses on a family’s perseverance. A father was waiting for his family to leave him, a mother waiting for her son to return home, and a daughter caring for her aging parents, waiting for them to pass away; loneliness, the apathy of children, and the ever-approaching fear of death.
