Directed by Sarmad Khoosat, Lali, and Seemab Gul’s Ghost School were awarded honorable mentions in the feature film category. Meanwhile, Sana Jafri’s short film Permanent Guest received the same distinction in the short film category.

Lali, a dark comedy, explores themes such as fear, insecurity, and societal pressure within marital relationships. The story revolves around a character named Zeeba, whose past is linked to mysterious deaths, turning her into a symbol of social stigma. The film was also previously screened at the Berlin International Film Festival, where it gained attention for its all-Pakistani cast and crew.

This recognition highlights the growing presence of Pakistani filmmakers on international platforms and reflects the industry’s evolving storytelling and creative depth.
