Mehwish Ali continued her winning streak by defending her title in the Girls U-17 category. In the final, she faced Eden-Alma Poulava and won decisively with scores of 11-5, 11-5, and 11-7. Mehwish, the top seed, remained undefeated throughout the tournament, not losing a single set to her opponents.

Azan Ali Khan Takes the Boys U-17 Title

Azan Ali Khan also put on an impressive performance to win the Boys U-17 title. He dominated local favorite Henry Kross with a strong win of 11-6, 11-4, and 11-9. Khan is currently ranked second in Pakistan for the Boys U-17 category.

In the Girls U-13 category, Mahnoor Ali, the top seed, claimed victory by defeating Riyo Kawabata. She won the final with scores of 11-2, 11-5, and 11-6. At just 12 years old, Mahnoor remained undefeated throughout the tournament, continuing her family’s tradition of squash excellence.

Ahmad Ali Naz Triumphs in Boys U-11

The youngest star, Ahmad Ali Naz, won the Boys U-11 title after a hard-fought match against local player Freddie Goldsmith.Naz kicked off the match by winning the first set with a score of 11-5. Although Goldsmith took the second set 11-2, Naz came back with determination, winning the next two sets 11-6 and 11-6 to secure the title. He is currently ranked number 1 in his age group in Pakistan.

Sehrish Ali Fights for Silver

The Ali sisters made their mark in the tournament, with Sehrish Ali reaching the final in the Girls U-15 category. She faced Japan’s Emily Senior in a closely contested match. Though Sehrish fought hard, she ultimately lost 3-2. Senior won the first set 15-13, but Sehrish bounced back in the second set with an 11-5 victory. The match went back and forth, with Senior taking the final set 11-4. Sehrish left with a silver medal, proud of her effort.

A Great Month for Pakistani Squash

This successful event follows another recent achievement for Pakistan squash. Earlier this month, Noor Zaman won the men’s title at the U23 World Squash Championship in Karachi, defeating Egypt’s Karim El Torkey in a thrilling 3-2 comeback.

Overall, the young athletes of Pakistan have shown outstanding skill and determination at the Australian Junior Open, marking a bright future for the sport in the country.
