A newlywed woman in India has reportedly sought a divorce after discovering that her husband had invited his parents and siblings to join their honeymoon, turning what was meant to be a romantic getaway into a family vacation.
The unusual case, reported from the state of Uttar Pradesh, has reached a family counseling center after repeated disagreements between the couple. According to reports, the marriage was arranged through a matrimonial website, and the couple had hoped to begin their new life together on a positive note.
The bride claimed that a honeymoon should be a special time for a husband and wife to bond, understand each other, and strengthen their relationship. However, with family members constantly present, she said the couple never had the opportunity to spend quality time alone.
On the other hand, the husband defended his decision, saying he simply wanted his family to enjoy the trip as well and did not believe he had done anything wrong. He maintained that his intentions were good and that including his parents and siblings was a way of keeping everyone happy.

The difference in expectations has created a serious rift between the couple. Despite multiple counseling sessions, neither side has been willing to compromise on their position.
Family counselors say the case highlights how important communication and mutual understanding are before marriage, especially regarding personal boundaries, family involvement, and expectations for major life events. If no agreement is reached in upcoming counseling sessions, the dispute could proceed toward formal divorce proceedings.
