Husband of Stage Actress Deedar Arrested in Human Smuggling Case

Authorities have arrested the husband of well-known Pakistani stage actress Deedar in connection with an alleged human smuggling and overseas recruitment scam. The suspect, identified as Jahanzeb, was taken into custody during a joint operation carried out by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) teams from Islamabad and Lahore.

According to reports, the arrest operation faced strong resistance from the suspect’s private security guards. The FIA team, led by Inspector Abdullah Kiani, encountered opposition from around eight guards during the raid. Due to the resistance, additional assistance from the Punjab Police was requested to successfully complete the operation.

After the arrest in Lahore, the suspect was transferred to Islamabad as he was reportedly wanted by the FIA Islamabad Zone in connection with ongoing investigations. Officials say the suspect is accused of running a fraudulent recruitment network that allegedly promised people jobs abroad. Through these promises, he is suspected of collecting large sums of money from thousands of individuals hoping to secure overseas employment.

Investigators revealed that the suspect had reportedly set up an office in Islamabad’s Sector G-11 while also operating similar activities from Lahore. Authorities believe that many victims were misled through fake job offers and recruitment schemes.

Reports also suggest that stage actress Deedar may have been linked to the activities of her husband. However, officials say investigations are still ongoing to determine the full extent of involvement and to gather more evidence.

Law enforcement agencies expect that further investigation may reveal additional details about the network and the number of victims affected by the alleged scam.
