Yashma Gill Reveals Why Her Father Stopped Talking to Her for a Year

Pakistani actress and model Yashma Gill has shared a personal story about the challenges she faced with her family after entering the entertainment industry. Speaking during a Ramadan transmission on a private television channel, the actress revealed that her father was initially very unhappy with her decision to join showbiz.

According to Yashma Gill, her father held the common perception that the entertainment industry was not a suitable field, and he did not want his daughter to become part of it. When she began her acting career, he expressed his disapproval by stopping communication with her entirely. The actress said that this silence continued for nearly a year, making it a difficult time for her emotionally.

She recalled that the situation began to change during the holy month of Ramadan. One day, while coming downstairs in her home, she greeted her father with “Salam,” and he responded to her greeting. Yashma said that moment became the beginning of reconciliation between them.

Later, when she planned to perform Umrah, she needed a male guardian to accompany her on the journey. Her father agreed to travel with her, and the trip played an important role in improving their relationship. During their time in Makkah and Madinah, he observed how people recognized and respected his daughter.

According to Yashma, this experience changed her father’s perspective about her profession. After returning from Umrah, their relationship improved significantly, and the distance that had existed between them for months gradually disappeared, bringing father and daughter closer once again.
