U.S. Ambassador Natalie Baker joined a high-level delegation in Lahore to take part in the city’s vibrant Basant celebrations, enjoying the traditional kite-flying festivities and cultural atmosphere.
The delegation included Consul General Lahore Stetson Sanders and Deputy Assistant Secretary John Mark Pommersheim. Upon arrival, they were welcomed by Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bukhari, and Provincial Minister for Communications Malik Sohail Bharth.

Marriyum Aurangzeb and Azma Bukhari briefed the American delegation on the cultural significance of Basant and the administrative arrangements in place. The delegation praised the organization and spirit of the festival.
Members of the U.S. diplomatic team also tried their hand at flying kites and took part in the joyful celebrations. The visit is seen as a positive step in cultural and diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and the United States.
