Whether they are daily soaps or serials, Pakistani dramas have a massive global audience. In 2022, we witnessed blockbuster films such as Parizaad, Mere Humsafar, Hum Tum, and Pinjra, which depicted unorthodox narratives that kept spectators glued to their screens.

While 2022 was a fantastic year for Pakistani television, it appears that 2023 will be even better, with a strong lineup of programs featuring novel themes and partnerships.

Tumhare Husn Ke Naam

Since its announcement, THKN, starring Saba Qamar, Sidra Niazi, and Imran Abbas, has been the talk of the town. It is currently in its final stages of production. The project will address such topics as envy, friendship, and difficult love.

Kuch Ankahi

Even though its first episode aired a week ago, the premise of the drama is that it is a social comedy with a message. It was written by Mohammed Ahmed and directed by Nadeem Baig. Kashf Foundation and Six Sigma Plus co-produced it. Kuch Ankahi focuses on family values, the emancipation of women, and strong female characters. The icing on the cake is its hit-leading duo. The drama stars Bilal Abbas Khan, Sajal Aly, Mohammed Ahmed, Irsa Ghazal, Mira Sethi, Adnan Samad, Babar Ali, Vaneeza Ahmed and Qudsia Ali.

Main Manto Nahi Hoon

After London Nahi Jaunga, director Nadeem Baig, superstar Humayun Saeed, and writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar will reunite for this project. In the play, Saeed has cast Maya Ali as his romantic interest. Contrary to the title, the tale is not based on Manto’s life but will feature a symbolic portrayal of the author in a contemporary narrative, and you won’t be disappointed if you set your expectations high.

Chaand Tara

Chaand Tara will star celebrity couples Danish Taimoor and Ayeza Khan during Ramadan 2023. The series will be directed by Danish Nawaz and written by the master of Ramadan serials, Saima Akram Chaudhry. While this is Danish’s first Ramadan play, Ayeza has already captivated audiences with her hilarious roles in Chupke Chupke and Chaudhry & Sons.

22 Qadam

This long-awaited project stars Wahaj Ali as a cricketer with Hareem Farooq and Kinza Razzak. ’22 Qadam’ is directed by ‘Pehli Si Mohabbat’ director Anjum Shahzad.
