Momina Iqbal Questions Justice System After Bail Extended Again

Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal has expressed disappointment after the interim pre-arrest bail of the accused in her harassment case was extended once again, raising concerns about the judicial process.

During the latest hearing at a Lahore sessions court, the interim pre-arrest bail of Punjab Assembly member Saqib Chadhar and his wife was extended until July 13. The court also directed both to cooperate with the investigation and instructed the prosecution to submit a progress report at the next hearing.

Following the court’s decision, Momina shared a message on her Instagram Story without naming anyone directly. She suggested that influential individuals appear to receive special treatment and questioned whether ordinary citizens’ cases are also repeatedly adjourned in the same way.

The actress further alleged that her legal team had been harassed, followed, and subjected to pressure during the course of the case. She questioned whether repeated delays in court proceedings are a privilege available only to powerful individuals.

The case first came to light in May, when Momina Iqbal alleged that she had been subjected to prolonged online harassment, cyberbullying, and death threats. She later named Saqib Chadhar in her complaint, claiming that after rejecting his marriage proposal, she, her fiancé, and her sister received threats.

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) registered a case against Saqib Chadhar on June 4 under cybercrime and other relevant provisions. He was granted interim pre-arrest bail the following day, which has since been extended multiple times.
