Javeria Abbasi Opens Up About Early Marriage, Single Motherhood, and Raising Her Daughter

In a candid podcast interview, Pakistani actress Javeria Abbasi has spoken openly about some of the most personal decisions of her life, including her early marriage, subsequent divorce, and journey as a single mother.

Reflecting on her choice to marry actor Shamoon Abbasi at a young age, Javeria stated that she has no regrets. “I got married young by my own will, and I do not regret that decision. I was deeply in love, and it was my personal choice. I have no sorrow over my decision to marry or to divorce, because both were my own. From the marriage, I got a beautiful daughter,” she said.

She revealed that part of her motivation for marrying early was to pursue her acting career without family restrictions. “I wanted to become an actress, and that’s why I married early so I could begin my career. My parents had said that after marriage, we could do whatever we wanted together. With that mindset, we both started our artistic journey.”

Javeria described being a single mother as the biggest social challenge she has faced. “Society casts doubts on a single mother—whether she can raise her child properly or not. My foremost priority was to give my daughter a good education, correct religious upbringing, and the right to make independent decisions.”

She shared her parenting philosophy, stating, “I see my daughter as an independent human being, not just as my offspring. I have played the role of both mother and father in her life, giving full attention to her education, daily routines, and activities.”

Regarding her daughter’s relationship with her father, Javeria said that while there were initial concerns, matters clarified over time. “I never stopped my daughter from meeting her father because I know the importance a father holds in one’s life.”

In a personal revelation, Javeria disclosed that she herself comes from a broken family and met her own father only three times in her life. “After marrying young, my own life began, and the opportunity for further meetings never arose.”

Javeria Abbasi’s reflections offer a rare glimpse into the personal resilience and conscious choices behind her public persona, highlighting themes of agency, responsibility, and redefining family on one’s own terms.
