According to a spokesperson from the Auqaf Department, Indian authorities have prohibited Sikh pilgrims intending to visit Pakistan for the commemoration of Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s martyrdom.
The pilgrims were scheduled to arrive on June 9th to participate in the religious ceremonies. A reception stage has been prepared at the border for this purpose, and the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee will be waiting to welcoming the pilgrims.

This move by India has led to disappointment among the Sikh community, who look forward to paying their respects at the sacred site. The symbolic reception at Wagah Border signifies Pakistan’s affirmation of the significance of these religious ties and the respect for Sikh traditions.
The ban highlights ongoing tensions between the two countries regarding religious and cultural exchanges. Despite these restrictions, Pakistan remains committed to facilitating the religious ceremonies for Sikh devotees and emphasizing the importance of maintaining brotherly relations through cultural and religious festivities.
