Indian Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has said that he cannot visit Pakistan, particularly Lahore, under the current circumstances, explaining that political tensions make such a trip difficult for him.
During a live Instagram session with fans while discussing his European tour, a fan from Lahore invited him to visit Pakistan. Responding with a smile, Diljit said, “No, brother. If I come to Lahore, they probably won’t let me go anywhere else. You know what’s happening in the world—it’s all politics.”
The singer emphasized that he prefers to stay away from political matters, saying he has always focused on his music and acting career rather than becoming involved in political debates.
Diljit explained that politics requires a strong temperament and resilience, adding that it is not something he sees himself participating in. He reiterated that he prefers to remain neutral and concentrate on entertaining audiences through his work.
The artist also faced criticism in India last year after working alongside Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the film Sardaar Ji 3. Due to strained relations between India and Pakistan, the film was not released in Indian cinemas but was screened in Pakistan and several international markets.
At the time, Diljit defended his decision, stating that the film had been completed before political circumstances changed and that the subsequent developments were beyond his control.

More recently, Diljit appeared in the film Main Wapas Aaunga, a story set during the Partition of India. A significant portion of the film takes place in present-day Sargodha, Pakistan.
Despite the challenges, Diljit’s comments suggest he remains respectful toward his Pakistani fans while acknowledging the realities of the current political environment. His remarks have sparked discussion on social media, with many fans expressing hope that cultural exchanges between the two countries will become easier in the future.
