A case has been registered against a female model and a photographer for allegedly recording a video in inappropriate clothing at the historic Wazir Khan Mosque in Lahore.
According to the FIR, the incident took place on the morning of August 13 when a video reel surfaced on social media. In the video, the model, identified as Azbia, was seen filming on the mosque’s staircase without official permission from the Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA).

The complaint states that the act was carried out secretly and without approval, and it was claimed that the video hurt the sanctity of the mosque while also damaging the reputation of the WCLA. As a result, the case has been registered under Section 295 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which deals with acts related to the desecration of religious sites.
The WCLA issued a statement confirming that as soon as officials learned about the video, strict orders were given to take immediate legal action against those responsible.
This is not the first time the mosque has been the center of such controversy. In August 2020, actress Saba Qamar and singer Bilal Saeed also faced similar charges for allegedly recording parts of a music video inside the mosque. At that time, both artists argued that no dance sequence was filmed inside the mosque and that they had obtained official permission for the shoot. Eventually, in May 2022, the court acquitted them of all charges.
The recent case has once again sparked debate on social media about the use of religious sites for media projects and the importance of respecting cultural and spiritual values.
