Her body was discovered during an investigation launched after a missing persons report. Initial investigations revealed that Hameera likely died on October 7 or 8, 2024, while her mobile was last used on the evening of October 7 at 5 pm. However, perplexingly, her WhatsApp account showed activity until February 2025, including changes such as the removal of her profile picture and last seen status.

According to her close friend and hairstylist, Danish Maqsood, there were modifications in her WhatsApp account even after February 5. Investigators are also examining the fact that WhatsApp accounts generally get deleted after 120 days of inactivity, along with the profile picture. If this rule applied, her account should have become inactive after February 4, 2025. However, it’s unclear how long her phone remained connected to the internet.

Adding to the mystery, white powder was found in clay pots along with her body, leading to suspicions that it might have been used to mask the odor of the body.
