Court Extends Interim Bail of MPA Saqib Chadhar in Momina Iqbal Harassment Case

A Lahore court has extended the interim bail of Punjab Assembly member Saqib Chadhar until July 28 in the cyber harassment case filed by Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal. The case is being investigated under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and remains under active investigation.

During the hearing, the investigating officer informed the court that the inquiry is still ongoing and that the mobile phone required for forensic examination has not yet been recovered. The officer requested additional time to complete the investigation and collect the remaining evidence.

Saqib Chadhar appeared before the court along with his legal counsel, Advocate Rana Maroof. After hearing the arguments, the Additional Sessions Judge extended his interim bail until the next hearing while allowing investigators more time to continue the probe.

Threat Allegations Surface in Momina Iqbal Case as Sister Ramsha Iqbal Claims Intimidation

According to the First Information Report (FIR), actress Momina Iqbal accused Saqib Chadhar and several others of cyber harassment, blackmail, intimidation, and illegal surveillance. The complaint alleges that the accused threatened to leak private data if certain demands, including marriage, were not accepted.

The FIR further states that Momina Iqbal’s sister submitted video evidence of the alleged threats to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). Investigators are examining the digital evidence as part of the ongoing inquiry.

The investigation also includes allegations that the accused deleted data and mobile applications before handing over the device to investigators, raising concerns about the possible destruction of electronic evidence. Authorities are expected to conduct forensic analysis once all required devices and records are obtained.

The court has not issued any findings regarding the allegations, and the case remains under investigation. As legal proceedings continue, the court will review the evidence presented by both parties before reaching any conclusion. The next hearing is scheduled for July 28, when the investigation’s progress will be reviewed.
