Actress Momina Iqbal Harassment Case: Court Extends Interim Bail of MPA Saqib Chaddhar

A local court has extended the interim bail of Punjab MPA Saqib Chaddhar until July 13 in the alleged harassment case filed by Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal.

The hearing was conducted by Additional Sessions Judge Nusrat Siddiqui, who directed the lawmaker to continue cooperating with the investigation. The court also instructed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to complete its inquiry promptly and submit a detailed investigation report along with the relevant record at the next hearing.

During the proceedings, the investigating officer informed the court that the suspect’s mobile phone, which is considered important evidence in the case, had been received only a day earlier. The officer stated that the forensic examination and investigation are still underway, making it impossible to conclude the inquiry at this stage.

Counsel representing actress Momina Iqbal argued before the court that Saqib Chaddhar was allegedly using his influence to delay the investigation and hinder the progress of the case. The lawyer requested the court to ensure that the inquiry is completed without unnecessary delays.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court extended the interim bail until July 13 while directing the investigating authorities to finalize the probe as soon as possible.

The case stems from a complaint filed by actress Momina Iqbal, following which the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) registered a case against MPA Saqib Chaddhar over allegations of harassment.

At this stage, the allegations remain under investigation, and no court has reached a final conclusion regarding the claims. The extension of interim bail does not determine guilt or innocence but allows the accused temporary legal protection while the investigation continues.

The next hearing is expected to focus on the FIA’s investigation report and the evidence collected so far, including the forensic examination of the mobile phone, as the court continues to oversee the progress of the case.
