Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has shared her strong opinion about the upcoming drama based on the infamous “Pinky Drug Wali” case. According to Azma Bukhari, this subject is so important and serious that it deserved to be made into a film, not just a television drama. She made these comments while speaking at the launch ceremony of a new film by famous director Sangeeta in Lahore.
Azma Bukhari praised Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for working hard to improve the cinema industry in Punjab. She said the government wants to bring young people out of their mobile phone screens and into cinemas. She believes that if Pakistan can produce good quality dramas, then why can’t it produce good quality films? She encouraged young directors to bring fresh ideas and new thinking to the film world.
She also said that digital platforms have given a new direction to the film industry. Films should not be made only for a specific class of people. Instead, high‑quality films on good, meaningful subjects should be made for everyone. Such films can also help show the positive image of Pakistan to the world.
