Saima Qureshi Stands by Statement: “There Is No Blessing in a Woman’s Earnings”

Actress Saima Qureshi has once again repeated her controversial belief that a woman’s income does not bring blessings, saying that earning money is not a woman’s responsibility. However, she also clarified that she is not against women working.

Sticking to Her Opinion

Earlier in February 2025, Saima made the same statement during an FHM podcast, where she said that “a woman’s earnings lack blessing.” The remark drew heavy criticism from the public. Later, she even released a video defending her position and insisted that she still believed the same.

Now, appearing again on the FHM podcast, Saima repeated her stance, saying:
“I stand by my words. A woman’s income does not have blessings. I am not saying women should not work, but I personally believe this is true.”

Her Personal Experience

Sharing her own life example, Saima said that despite working hard for years, she still lives in a rented house and has not been able to buy her own home. She added:
“If a man had earned the same amount as me, he might have already built a house.”

According to her, women who succeed in showbiz like Mahira Khan often have family support. Saima argued that Mahira also got married, which, in her view, makes a difference.

Working Women and Single Mothers

Saima clarified that she is not against women doing jobs or running businesses. She herself works and manages business ventures. But she stressed that single mothers like her are forced to work for survival. “If I don’t earn, where will resources come from? Food won’t fall from the sky,” she said.

However, she maintained that such earnings still lack blessings, as in her belief, earning is not a woman’s duty. Married women, she said, usually have the backing of their husbands and households, which makes their situation different.

When reminded that Hazrat Khadijah (RA), the wife of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), was a successful businesswoman, Saima responded: “She was Hazrat Khadijah (RA), and even she married later.”
