Matt Duffer and his brother Ross Duffer admitted they made Netflix producers cry with the script for the fifth and final season of “Stranger Things.”
The creator of “Stranger Things” discussed the two-hour meeting with Netflix execs during a Los Angeles panel discussion on the show.
Matt Duffer quipped that they were emotional when the producers pitched the script.
“We were successful in getting our CEOs to cry, which I interpreted as a positive sign,” he remarked. The only other times I’ve seen them cry were at budget discussions, for example.
Ross Duffer stated that they attempted to give the final season the same tone as the first.
“We’re trying to go back to the beginning a little bit in the tone of the first season, but on a larger scale than the fourth season. He stated, “Hopefully, it has a little bit of everything.”
To pay honor, Ross Duffer said they were infusing everything from the previous season into the forthcoming one.
He described it as a “culmination of all the seasons, so it has a little something from each, while previously each season was so unique — three, this is our summer blockbuster season with the big monster, and four was the psychological horror.”
