According to the New York Post, Luke fell in love with Sarah in 2018, just six months after they became friends. At that time, Sarah, now 38, had just come out of a difficult divorce and was raising her three children alone. When Luke first proposed, she declined, saying she loved him but wasn’t ready for marriage due to family responsibilities.
But Luke didn’t give up.
Over the next seven years, he proposed 42 more times each in a special way. From horseback proposals on the beaches of Jamaica, to candlelight dinners and even renting a castle in Prague, Luke tried everything to win Sarah’s heart.
Sarah admitted, “I didn’t expect Luke to be so consistent. I cared for him deeply, but I just couldn’t say yes.” Still, Luke stayed patient, saying every time,
“Your ‘no’ is okay but I’ll keep asking.”
On the 42 Rejections, Sarah jokingly said, “Maybe I’ll say yes next time.” Luke took it seriously.
One year later, in 2025, Luke planned his 43rd proposal at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, South East London a location known as the center of the world. He looked into Sarah’s eyes and said,
“This place is the center of the world, but you are the center of my world. Will you marry me?”
This time, Sarah said yes.
On May 17, 2025, the couple finally tied the knot, turning their long journey of love into a beautiful marriage story. Sarah now says, “Luke never gave up on me. I’m so glad he waited. He truly deserves a place in the Guinness World Records for most marriage proposals.”
Luke and Sarah’s story is now inspiring many around the world. It proves that love, patience, and commitment can overcome even the hardest obstacles.
