After the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) effectively persuaded the majority of Asian nations to accept its hybrid model suggestion for the Asia Cup, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is also willing to accept the proposal.
Before the impasse can be resolved, the BCCI has conditioned its adoption of the PCB-suggested model on Pakistan’s formal assurance during their World Cup tour of India in October of this year.
A formal decision will not be made until after the BCCI’s Special General Meeting (SGM) on May 27. It is expected that the BCCI will change its stance on the issue.
The Indian cricket board has remained steadfast in its desire to move the entire Asian tournament out of Pakistan and has requested that matches be contested at a neutral venue. In response to Pakistan’s threat to boycott the World Cup, however, the Indian authority has changed its stance.
Following Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh’s acceptance of PCB’s hybrid model proposal, India has conceded, albeit conditionally.

Pakistan’s proposal
During their SGM meeting in Ahmedabad, India, the board is anticipated to approve Pakistan’s proposal.
PCB Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi had previously stated that Pakistan would not participate in the upcoming World Cup in India if Jay Shah, the Asian Cricket Council chief, and the BCCI secretary refused to endorse Pakistan’s position as a partial host.
“The problem is that India has refused to come.” The team had to withdraw from the Asia Cup. What do you want us to do specifically? By then, I will have proposed the identical formula to the ICC. The ICC is not as staunchly opposed to the hybrid approach, in my opinion. “They’re waiting to see how it goes in the Asia Cup,” Sethi said, adding that although he couldn’t say much more, the situation remained unchanged.
