Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has found himself at the centre of a major industry controversy after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) announced a ban on working with him in the film industry.
The dispute is linked to the much-talked-about film Don 3. According to reports, production company Excel Entertainment, led by filmmaker Farhan Akhtar, accused Ranveer Singh of backing out of a three-film agreement at a crucial stage, causing an alleged financial loss of around 45 crore rupees. The matter has now escalated into an industry-wide issue.
FWICE held a press conference stating that no production house will work with Ranveer Singh until he resolves the dispute with the concerned filmmakers. The federation also demanded that the actor take responsibility for pre-production expenses linked to the project. Officials said their attempts at mediation failed, leading to a “non-cooperation directive” against the actor.

The federation further stated that the film industry functions like a family and sudden exits from major projects can cause serious financial and professional disruptions. They warned that stricter action will be taken in future cases involving similar disputes.
Ranveer Singh, however, has responded through his team, rejecting any allegations of wrongdoing. His representatives said the actor believes such matters should be resolved through proper legal channels rather than public pressure. They added that Ranveer has always respected the Don franchise and all professionals involved in the project.
The actor also reportedly maintained silence during the controversy to avoid unnecessary escalation, stating that he prefers professional issues to be handled with dignity and mutual respect.
Despite the controversy, Ranveer Singh’s team confirmed that he remains focused on his upcoming film projects. The situation continues to develop as industry bodies and production houses discuss the next steps regarding the dispute.
