Indian social media personality Monalisa Bhosale, widely known online as the “Mahakumbh Girl,” has reportedly married her boyfriend Farman Khan in an interfaith marriage that drew significant public attention. According to Indian media reports, the wedding took place in Kerala under tight police security after tensions arose between the couple and the girl’s family.

The 18-year-old Monalisa first met Farman Khan, who is from Maharashtra, around six months ago on Facebook. Their relationship faced strong opposition from her family because the two come from different religious backgrounds. Reports claim that her father, Jai Singh Bhosale, was particularly against the relationship and allegedly pressured her to marry someone else.

At the time of the incident, Monalisa was in Kerala working on her first Malayalam film titled “Nagma.” According to media reports, her father traveled there and tried to take her back home, which increased tensions between the families.

As the situation escalated, Monalisa and Farman Khan reportedly went to the Thampanoor Police Station and requested protection. Police officials stated that since Monalisa is 18 years old, she has the legal right to make her own life decisions.

Following legal procedures, the couple reportedly married in a temple according to Hindu rituals. The ceremony was held under police protection, and several local political figures, including Kerala’s Education Minister, were present.

Monalisa wore a red saree and traditional sindoor, while Farman Khan was dressed in a white shirt and traditional mundu.

Monalisa first gained attention during the 2025 Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj, where she went viral while selling garlands. Her distinctive eyes and warm smile earned her the nickname “Mahakumbh Girl.” She is now preparing to appear in upcoming film projects in both Malayalam and Bollywood cinema.
