Nineties’ famous Pakistani singer and current politician Javad Ahmed has once again made headlines for his controversial statements.

Having stepped away from music, Javad Ahmed often critiques political figures, showbiz stars, and his contemporaries, drawing both attention and criticism.

In a recent news show, he labeled popular singers Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan as “greedy.”

Javad Ahmed explained that he left music due to his political commitments and now earns no income from singing because, in his view, there should be no financial greed in this field.

He claimed that in his era, artists were always accessible to the public, their cassettes sold in record-breaking numbers, and even audiences in India admired their success.

According to him, he would sing in villages without any payment, only requesting that the songs carry meaningful lessons.

Criticizing modern singers, he said most artists today limit themselves to weddings and corporate events, distancing themselves from ordinary fans.

He believes this trend harms both art and artists, as the general public that gave them fame is no longer prioritized in their work.
